Indoor Hockey UK (IHUK) is delighted to announce the University of Nottingham Sport as its official Sport Engagement Partner, strengthening a long-standing relationship focused on growing the sport and delivering outstanding indoor hockey events.
The partnership recognises the University’s significant contribution to the sport through the delivery of major events and its commitment to creating opportunities for participation, competition and development at every level.
Together, the two organisations will work to strengthen the profile of indoor hockey, enhance the experience for the community, and support the continued growth of the sport nationwide.
The partnership also builds on the University's role as a trusted host venue, with the David Ross Sports Village continuing to provide a home for key IHUK events and championships.
William Davey, Operations Director at Indoor Hockey UK, said:
“We're delighted to recognise the University of Nottingham Sport as our official Sport Engagement Partner. They've been hugely supportive of what we're trying to achieve with Indoor Hockey UK, and this partnership gives us the opportunity to build on that relationship and look at how we can continue to grow the sport together.
Our ambition is to make indoor hockey events bigger, better and more accessible, creating experiences that go beyond the matches themselves. Having a partner that shares that ambition and can support us in delivering major events is incredibly valuable as we look to develop our programme over the coming years.”
Christine Bailey, Assistant Director of Sport – Business Development at the University of Nottingham, said:
“Our relationship with Indoor Hockey UK has gone from strength to strength, and we are excited to continue this journey together. Having successfully hosted two international events on our campus, both of which achieved record attendances, we have seen first-hand the growing appetite for indoor hockey and the positive impact these events can have on inspiring participants and spectators alike.
We are delighted to play our part in supporting Indoor Hockey UK's ambitions to grow the game at every level, from strengthening the university pathway and developing future talent, to increasing participation and engagement across the wider hockey community"
The upcoming Championships in December will be the first milestone in this renewed partnership, providing a platform to showcase high-quality competition, inspire greater participation and support the ongoing development of indoor hockey within universities and beyond.
This partnership marks an exciting step forward for both organisations, creating a platform for continued collaboration and a shared commitment to the future growth of indoor hockey.
