There are a number of hotels within the vicinity of the competition venues. View the recommended hotels within the area of the competition venue. Once you're ready to book, contact Esselle Sports, our booking agency to get the rooms that you need. Esselle Sports has a number of rooms at the hotels on hold, and may therefore be able to offer you places, even if the hotel website is saying it has sold out.

Getting to Nottingham

Public Transport

David Ross Sports Village is served by a host of public transport services, and this is the best and easiest way to get to and from the University Campus

  • Train (Nottingham Station)

    The nearest train station is Nottingham, which is approximately 4 miles away and the principal railway station of Nottingham. It is also a nodal point on the city's tram system. Rail services connect Nottingham with London St. Pancras, Liverpool Lime Street, Norwich, Leicester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds.

  • Tram

    Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is a 32-kilometre-long tram system running through Nottingham and is a great and unique way to get around the city. The QMC Zone has stops right outside the University Campus allowing for a quick hop on and hop off to the venue.

    Nottingham has an extensive bus network that will get you around quickly and easily with bus stops along Beeston Lane on the campus.


    Nottingham City Transport's (NCT) 34C runs from Nottingham City Centre onto University Park Campus, stopping outside David Ross Sports Village. In termtimes the 34C evening and Saturday services stop at the Sports Village, and in university holidays the 34C runs to the Sports Village throughout the day Monday-Friday. Alternatively, you can catch the NCT 36, which runs Monday-Sunday between the City Centre and Chilwell and stops on Derby Road a short walk.

  • Flying

    The nearest International Airport to Nottingham is East Midlands Airport which has flights to and from Lanzarote, Paris, Alicante, Rzeszow, Rome and more. Airlines Aer  Lingus, Aurigny, Balkan Holidays, Blue Islands, Eastern Airways, Jet2, Ryanair and TUI are all based at this airport, which is approximately 22 minute drive away, with public transport links also available.


    Located just over 55 minutes away, Birmingham Airport has flights to and from Krakow, Madrid, Amsterdam, Vienna, Orlando, Sydney, Singapore and more. Airlines based at the airport include Are Lingus, EasyJet, Emirates, Jet2, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Qatar, Ryanair, TUI and many more.


    There are many international airports available within the UK which will allow all countries from across the World reach Nottingham. Additional airports are listed below with the approximate distance from the venue:

  • Cycle

    Dedicated cycle parking facilities are available across University Park campus. Cycle stores, cycle parking, showers and lockers/drying cabinets are all available.


    Lime has launched an e-bike rental scheme in the Nottingham City area. Users can pick up and return Lime e-bikes from a network of designated e-bike-hire bays across the city – and there is pick up/drop off spot outside DRSV on Universitas 21 Avenue. You can hire e-bikes through the Lime app.

  • Taxi / Minicab

    There are taxi ranks throughout the city and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations.

  • Walking

    The venue is a 10 minute walk from Nottingham City Centre and 15 minutes walk from the train station.

Private Transport

Indoor Hockey UK always recommends travelling by public transport wherever possible. If you need to use your own private vehicles, we urge players, spectators and officials to share transport wherever possible

  • Car / Motorbike

    There are a number of car parks available throughout the University Campus for use by visitors, staff and students. Even though the Sports Centre Car Park isn't that big, there are plenty of other spaces within a short walking distance. If you are visiting for an event, then you should park in one of the car parks on campus.

  • Coach / Mini Bus

    Coach and mini buses are able to park on campus, but space is strictly limited. Drop off bays are available outside the venue. If you are intending to bring a coach or mini bus to this venue for one of our events, please contact Indoor Hockey UK at least 72 hours before arrival.

  • Campus Car Parks

    There are a number of car parks available throughout the Univeristy Campus for use by visitors, staff and students. If you are visiting the campus for the Sports Village, then you should park in one of the car parks on campus. 


    Recommended car parks include:

    Nightingale Hall Car Park (3 minute walk)

    Bowling Green Car Park (4 minute walk)

    Rutland Hall Car Park (4 minute walk)

    Sherwood Hall Car Park (5 minute walk)

    Ancaster Hall Car Park (6 minute walk)

  • Blue Badge Parking

    Limited parking for those with a blue badge is available at the Sports Village car park. You will be required to display your blue badge whilst parked throughout the event. Additional Blue Badge Parking is also available at other car parks located on the University Campus.

  • EV Charging Facilities

    The following charge points are available to Campus car park users:

    University Park - in the Main Visitor Car 

    University Park - on Beeston Lane near David Ross Sports Village

    The Orchard Hotel - Car Park

    To use the charge points, users need to download the Mer Connect App and register as a user. During core hours of 9.15am to 4pm Monday-Friday, the maximum vehicle charging time is 4hours and then you must move your vehicle to a normal parking space so others can use the charge point.

  • Drop Off / Pick Up

    A free drop off / pick up area is available outside the venue. There is no parking within this area and a maximum wait time of 15 minutes. Vehicles must not be left unattended at any time. To help with dropping off, Indoor Hockey UK can provide a kit assistance service, to allow you to leave your kit supervised whilst you park your vehicle. To use the kit assistance service, you must contact Indoor Hockey UK at least 72 hours before attending an event.

Event Store

The Indoor Hockey UK Store will be in attendance at this event selling Official Merchandise as well as a selection of hockey equipment.

You can order online for collection at the event, or shop in person from the stall, located in the venue foyer
